This is a good question asked by those who are zealous to be saved. After all, I would also ask why must I eat if I find no understanding to it? The answer is as simple as A B C; I must eat if I want to remain living. However, it is imperative we ask the reason behind every situation if we want to get the right insight: If you don't ask, you don't get. Now to the question you ask, why must I be saved? Why do we need to have this experience? It is good to know why you must cross a brigde before you go head-on, otherwise you fall victim of the enemies snare. Isn't it good to know why you need to buy a bycicle in preference to other vehicle? Won't you ask yourself; what do I need it for? Will it last longer? Will it provide shield for me in raining times? All this questions you will ask yourself before you opt-in to get the bycicle if it is the answer to all your question or else you motion for other vehicle.
The reason why you must be saved is what brought about salvation. Let me take you to the beginning of the mystery; In the beginning, God created heaven and earth and everything therein Gen. 1: 1ff and He found them excellent Gen. 1: 25. He now made humans in His own image and made the humans the ruler over all other creatures. However, part of the authority given to humans was lost when the devil comes in and distabilize the situation. Ever since then, there has been a great seperation between man and god. Gen. 3: 9-14
. Our God is a merciful creator wishing nobody to be destroyed thereby offering to the lost a hope. His aim is to bring us back to him because when we sinned, "...he doesn't take our lives, instead, He figures out ways of bringing us back when we are far away" II Samuel 14: 14 (CEV). And phew! He has found the way to bring us back "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1: 21. Let me now answer your question with clarity why you must be saved in two sub-headings viz;- TO ENJOY THE BENEFIT OF BEING SAVED and
- TO ESCAPE THE DANGER OF NOT BEING SAVED.
THE BENEFIT OF BEING SAVED
- "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him; should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3: 16." I am so glad to tell you today if you boldly take the steps of being saved, eternal life awaits you as promised by God.
- You also have your treasure store up in heaven where it neither decay nor corrupt. "To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you." I Peter 1: 4.
- You will worry for nothing before you have what you want. He said to His chosen ones, those who are saved and that includes you as you want to receive Him into your life today, saying come to me all yee that are heavy laden and I will give you rest and cast all your cares on me for I care for you. You can lean on Him as long as you are His'.
- You are priviledge to partake in the wedding feast of the lamb. "And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God." Rev. 19: 9. Imagine, you heard a knock on your door, on opening, it was the president of your country behind the door. Wasting no time, he ordered a sealed envelop from his guard and hand it over to you with smile on his face "You are invited to the wedding feast of my son, come and chairman the day." I believe, through the night of that day, you won't be able to have a good night rest only wishing the day has come, even though the wedding day may still be some months to come. How much more when you're invited to the wedding feast of the lamb? You shouldn't wait till the wedding day comes.
THE DANGER OF NOT BEING SAVED
It is good to know the benefit of being saved, however, it is even more better to know the danger there in not being saved. Bringing this two together under critical examination will lead you to take the most profitable decision. To hit the nail on the head, Rev. 20: 15 gives us a good point, "And whosoever was nott found written in the book of life was cast in to the lake of fire." Only those who are redeemed by the blood of Christ Jesus are their names written in the book of life. Furthermore, The anger of God is on those who are not saved Romans 5: 9 and this will lead to the destruction of these unsaved ones except they repented and turn to God.
